Dr Roger Paterson
Dr Roger Paterson is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower limb conditions of the hips, knees, and ankles. Dr Paterson finished his orthopaedic training in 1983, undertaking further study tours of Europe and North America between 1983 and 1984.
Dr Paterson has been a founding member of the SPORTSMED•SA Orthopaedics Division since its beginning in 1989, and is the original inventor of both the definitive arthroscopic femoral drill guide for Anterior Cruciate Reconstructions and a soft, no hinges Anterior Cruciate knee support for contact sport and rehabilitation. He has published extensively on Anterior Cruciate biomechanics and reconstruction, patellofemoral pain and instability, knee replacement surgery, and the treatment of sports injuries of the ankle, and remains an accepted international expert in all these areas.
Specialising in the assessment, treatment and recovery of orthopaedic, sporting, musculoskeletal and arthritis conditions of the knee, hip and ankle, Dr Paterson has extensive experience in providing patients with the best possible healthcare and treatment, with a focus on long-term outcomes.
