FAQ’s
Does private health insurance cover my treament?
This will depend on your individual policy. Most policies with ancillary or extras cover will provide a rebate for Physiotherapy, although the amount of rebate provided can vary markedly between policies.
At Eyre Sports Physio, you can process your treatment claim immediately using HICAPS, providing an instant rebate and leaving only the gap payment to be made on the day.
Does Medicare cover my treatment?
Medicare does not generally cover Physiotherapy treatment costs, however the Chronic Disease Management (formerly Enhanced Primary Care – EPC) scheme permits doctors to approve up to 5 Allied Health services per calendar year upon referral.
Please discuss this option with either your Physio or treating doctor to determine your eligibility for this scheme.
Do you treat Return to Work SA & Compulsory Third Party patients?
Yes we do, however all Return to Work SA and Allianz patients are required to have a referral from their treating doctor.
Patients must also agree to abide by the conditions imposed by these third-party providers, such as the frequency and number of hands-on treatments allowed.
What are your terms for payment & cancellations?
Payment in full is required at the time of consultation. Cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
If you need to cancel your appointment we request that you provide at least 3 hours notice to avoid a charge.
Appointments missed without notification will incur a fee. Appointments cancelled with less than 3 hours notice may incur a fee if the vacant appointment slot cannot be filled.
How long does an appointment go for?
Assessment consultations are 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the Physio and the condition to be assessed.
Follow up review consultations are 30 minutes. Long review consultations of 45 minutes are recommended for treatment of 2 x areas.
Lymphoedema & Pelvic Floor consults can be up to 60 minutes in duration.
Shorter consultation times are available for purposes of taping, exercise checks or discussion of imaging or future orthopaedic management.

Please note that our Phyios will show you the utmost respect and will ensure you feel as comfortable as possible throughout the appointment. They will respect your wishes if you prefer not to remove certain items of clothing (though this may at times limit the available treatment options), and will make sure towels or gowns are used to appropriately cover areas as needed.
Please note that we have the facilities if you need to change clothing on-site.
Will you remind me when my appointment is due?
Eyre Sports Physio is able to send you a reminder SMS/text message on the morning of your appointment. If you would like to utilise this free service, please provide a mobile phone number when you make your first appointment and ask the staff member to sign you up for the courtesy SMS service.
Please note that this complementary service may occasionally not be available due to reasons beyond our control, and as such on rare occasions you may not receive a reminder SMS.
Furthermore if your appointment is the first one of the day you may actually receive your reminder SMS when you are already in the Clinic.
Do I need a referral?
A referral from a medical practitioner is not required to consult with our Physiotherapists, unless you are claiming the cost of your treatment through a third-party provider, such as WorkCover (now Return to Work SA), Compulsory Third Party insurance (Allianz) or Veteran’s Affairs.
If you think you are eligible to claim your treatment under Medicare, you will need to see your treating doctor for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan to be put in place prior to attending.
