CHRISTINA DERBYSHIRE
Christina Derbyshire, Registered Psychologist, visits Port Lincoln and consults for one week each four weeks. In between visits, online counselling sessions are conducted for clients throughout the Eyre Peninsula.
She counsels children, adolescents and adults and has helped clients with a wide variety of presenting problems. Issues addressed include (but are not limited to) depression, anxiety, stress, substance misuse, behaviour management, relationship issues, workplace issues, obesity and eating disorders, trauma and grief.
Private or Mental Health Care Plan clients are welcome, as are Return to Work SA (WorkCover), Motor Accident Commission (MAC), Department of Education (DECD), SA Police (SAPOL), other self-insurers and Lifetime Support Agency (LSA) clients. If a patient’s NDIS funds are self-managed or managed by a planner, she is eligible to provide them with psychological services too.
Warm, highly skilled and experienced psychological services are provided; enabling clients to be heard, address their issues effectively and move towards solutions. This may help reduce presenting symptoms; and can potentially facilitate positive change in both thinking and behaviour.
She tailors her approach to the client’s individual needs and understands the importance of establishing good rapport. Whilst Christina has assisted clients with many different presenting issues; she also has considerable experience and interest in issues related to eating, weight and emotions (obesity, binge eating disorder, bulimia, restrictive dieting etc.).
